Christmas in Puerto Rico is a big thing, especially for those who enjoy those seasonal snacks when they appear at your local stores or supermarkets. Walnuts, hazelnuts, and gumdrops are part of my list of favorites. But growing up, there was a plate with figs among all those other delicacies.

These ancient and delicious dried fruits are a typical festive product and a must-have for Christmas. There is no Christmas without dried fruit, starting with figs.
And whether you like them just as a dried fruit treat, in cookies or jam, there is a distinguishable taste of a holiday in them.
Taking it a step further, we share this cocktail recipe with you because Figs and Rum are a holiday on their own.
